Anchor Websites is run by Laura and Jim Farley; a husband and wife team out of Hudson, Wisconsin. Laura is the first voice you’ll hear and the guide who helps shape the right plan. Then you work directly with Jim, who builds everything. Laura stays involved throughout, and together they’ve been helping businesses show up better online since 2016.
Our Story
Started in Wisconsin. Working Globally
Anchor Websites started in 2016 when Laura and Jim Farley decided to build something of their own. Jim had been doing web projects on the side for years, but it was Laura who recognized the opportunity and the need. Too many small businesses were stuck with websites that didn't represent them, and nobody was in their corner to fix it.
So they built Anchor Websites. Laura leads the first conversation and helps map the right approach. Jim leads the build and implementation. No outsourcing, no mystery team and Laura remains involved and available throughout.
Today we work with companies across the country: restaurants, law firms, life science companies, healthcare practices, and small businesses of all kinds, all from our home base in Hudson, Wisconsin. Every project is still done the same way it always has been: in-house, in Wisconsin, by us.

Laura Farley
Laura is the reason most clients choose Anchor Websites and one of the many reasons they stay. She has a natural ability to make people feel heard, understood, and genuinely taken care of. That's not a skill you can fake, and it's not something that shows up on a résumé. You notice it in the first conversation.
With a degree in business and a background in finance, Laura brings real structure to every client relationship. She manages business development, handles communication, and keeps every project moving in the right direction. If you've heard about Anchor Websites through networking or a referral, there's a good chance Laura put that relationship in motion.

Jim Farley
Jim builds every website. His background in project management and technical support means he approaches each project with both a builder's mindset and an operator's eye, things get done on time, edge cases get caught, and nothing falls through the cracks.
What clients notice most is that Jim listens. Really listens. He asks the right questions, absorbs what you're trying to accomplish, and translates that into a site that feels like yours, not a template with your logo dropped in.

Outside the Office
Four boys, two dogs, a garden, and a band.
Laura and Jim have been married since 2012 and are parents to four boys. When they're not working, you'll find them at soccer fields, on ski slopes, or out in the garden arguing about tomatoes.
They're also musicians. Together they play in High & Rising — a band that's taken them to some genuinely impressive stages. The discipline and craft that goes into performing at that level isn't something you leave at the door when you get to work.
They share the house with a rotating cast of dogs, cats, and birds. Life is full. That's the point.

We started Anchor Websites because we saw too many small businesses stuck with websites that didn't represent them and no one in their corner to fix it. That's still why we do this.

We've never outsourced a project. Every line of code, every design decision, every client conversation happens here in Hudson. That's not a marketing point. It's just how we work.
